The bAlllAd Cie
A hitchhiking trip, summer 2014...
... Bertrand takes some wireless headphones in his backpack and his smartphone to try an experiment at the off of the off of Chalon.
He is a little "geek" Bertrand... A decade before, he was doing a duet with a groove-box on stage in Bourges.
Mixing a bit of technology with fantasy and good humor, he likes it.
A few years later, the bAlllAd show is growing, and has been played more than 200 times in France, Belgium, Italy, India...
Eponymous! During all these dates, the need to have a company name was felt.
To have something to write on the festival programs of course, but especially to start weaving a guideline that will guide the next projects. bAlllAd now becomes the company name.
To be honest...
... it is often the form that generates the content in the company's creations.
bAlllAd works on the form so that it is as malleable and practical as possible, and then confronts it with the public. The creation is done with the public.
For example, "Proche" started with experiments in the XXth district of Paris: the ZEF initiated by Ktha cie.
Three days of tests, and recommendations from the invited public.
Thanks to this constant back and forth, the company's creations increase in gauge over time, and adapt very easily whatever the public.
There are constants, values in Bertrand Devendeville's artistic approach.
Creating links and encouraging encounters.
Reconciling the artistic with popular education by relying on the intrinsic and complementary qualities of these two approaches.
Sprinkling his musical and poetic grain of salt in the street arts.
Having fun, don't forget this point.
bAlllAd received the support of the Conseil Régional de Picardie in 2019.
The show bAlllAd was part of the Confluences Nomades of the Pôle National des Arts du Cirque et de la Rue d'Amiens.
"Proche" will enter in experimentation within the framework of "la rue est à Amiens" in September 2020.
pArrrAd enters in creation in March 2021 at the Hangar of the Pôle National du cirque et des arts de la rue d'Amiens.
"Close" receives the support of the Direction régionale des affaires culturelles des Hauts-de-France, within the framework of the device " Plaines d'été "

Thanks to the Théâtre des poissons, to the farm of Monampteuil and to the Pic' arts festival, to the Ktha Cie, to the companies crossed on the road which inspire us in a way or another ( Cie Pudding Théatre, Cie Pernette, Cie Kudsak, the Mic-mac, Turbo-dancing....).
Thanks to François Dereux, the former steward of bAlllAd. If you pass by Bouillancourt en Sery, stop at theAuberge du Vert Bocage, and buy a drink to the new owner ;-).
Thanks to Cécile Caron for her support in prod. 2019/2020. Buy her a beer at the ST Riquier festival, but after her service ;).
